Day 18 Saturday, March 30, 2019 Sydney to Melbourne
Downtown Melbourne on the Yarra River. I actually did not take any photos on this day when we flew to Melbourne, so this is a picture from our walking tour a few days later.
We had a noon flight, so no rushing to get to the airport. We talked with Vinh and Stuart quite a while, enjoyed our leftovers for breakfast, and called our Uber. Flight was about an hour. Nice Uber ride to our Airbnb after landing.
Our host, Robert, had friends visiting, so he was busy taking care of all of us. It was a new, tall apartment building, with an incredible view from our 9th-floor room looking westward toward the Docklands. The apartment was large, clean, with a washer/dryer, and a Fitness Rm on the first floor. We did have a hard time understanding how Robert (Malaysian) wanted us to use his stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and cooking utensils versus his own personal use of these. Janet commented frequently about the kinds of foods Robert cooked for himself and the smells they left, such as whole fish with their skeletons left in the top of the trash can.
I did use the Fitness Rm for a while, my first time exercising since the final cruise day. For dinner, I went straight across the small street to get Chinese takeout. It was raining.
I'm not remembering anything else from that day. Our tour would be leaving early in the morning, so we went to bed early.
